Customers often call us with a sign idea but aren't exactly sure how to execute it. We are here to help! Our knowledgeable sales staff are here to help lead you to the best solution for your signage needs.
The key points to ask yourself when picking the right material for a sign are, "Where is the sign going?" and "How long do I want the sign to last?" These are the questions our sales staff are likely to ask you when determining the best solution for you.
"Where is the sign going?"
If your sign is going indoors, pretty much any of the materials we offer will be long lasting - but depending exactly where, we have recommendations.
Here are a few examples:
For facility way-finding signs we would recommend engraved signs, styrene plastic, or sintra.
For washroom and stairwell signs we would recommend our tactile braille signs.
For warehouse floor marking we would recommend our decals with floor minder laminate for the best results.
If your sign is going outdoors, we would also need to ask "How long do you want the sign to last?"
If your outdoor sign is temporary, most people use corrugated plastic, Coroplast, for this application.
Any long term outdoor use signs should be made of aluminum or composite aluminum. Aluminum is the most recommended and commonly used but, if you are posting a larger sign on a flat surface (ie: a building wall or a plywood structure) you can get away with composite aluminum, which can be cut to any size and is slightly less expensive than aluminum. Other long term applications are reflective decals and signs, as well as Steel.
